Philosophy of Education

In a world where students no longer need us to gain information, what is our role as educators?

My philosophy of education is that all children learn in unique ways, and it is the job of the educator to get to know the student in order to meet their educational and emotional needs. I believe a student is more open to learning when they feel nurtured and understood. A teacher is a facilitator of learning and should encourage students to ask questions, and not be afraid of failure. An administer’s job is to remove any barrier so teachers are able to facilitate a positive learning environment for the students. It is through trying and failing that growth happens.  I believe in giving students the tools they need to achieve their goals, and cheering them on as they succeed.
